About Us

HRSToolbox started with a familiar frustration: a shift supervisor squinting at a printed rota, a stack of timesheets, and a calculator app, trying to work out whether the person asking for Friday off actually had the leave to take it. The finance team had software for their side of the workforce. The people on the floor — the ones deciding coverage, logging lateness, and reconstructing who worked what — had a phone calculator and their own memory. We built this site to close that gap.

So the mission here is narrow on purpose. We are not trying to be a payroll suite or an all-in-one HR platform. We make small, fast, single-purpose tools for the operational side of managing people: attendance percentages, work-hours totals, leave balances, pro-rata entitlement, lateness logs, overtime and shift-differential pay, and time-off-in-lieu. Each one does the arithmetic a manager would otherwise do by hand, and shows enough working that you can trust the answer and explain it to someone else.

I edit HRSToolbox. Before this I spent years in operations and workforce planning for retail and warehouse teams, which is where I learned that most attendance disputes come down to nobody having the numbers written down clearly. Every tool and guide on this site is reviewed against how a real team lead would actually use it on a busy shift — not how a policy document imagines it. If a calculation is ambiguous or a result could mislead, we rewrite it until it isn't.

We keep the site free, we don't ask you to create an account, and we don't hold onto anything you type in. If you spot a calculation that looks off, have a tool you wish existed, or manage a team and want to tell us what would genuinely save you time, I read every message personally. Reach me at [email protected] — feedback from people who actually run rosters is what keeps this toolkit honest and useful.
